NorthPark Presbyterian Church’s Youth Group Become Pantry Bag Experts

With great joy and enthusiasm the NorthPark Presbyterian Youth Group arrived at the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry and Clothes Closet on Monday, January 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, to help make over 570 pantry bags to be given to our neighbors that week.

On this day of service, spearheaded by Rev. Nicole Bates, pastor of NorthPark Presbyterian Church (www.northparkpres.org), the youth group learned that on a weekly basis the pantry helps approximately 670 neighbors feed their families and that without the extra groceries they would go hungry. They learned that the groceries they were putting in their bags were carefully selected to provide our neighbors the needed protein, carbohydrates and fats for a healthy diet. Thanks to North Texas Food Bank and the NorthPark Presbyterian Church’s Reverse Food Truck for helping stock the pantry.

With boundless energy that only the youth possess, the Youth Group helped make the pantry bags in no time.  The pantry was delighted to have them! Thank you, NorthPark Presbyterian Youth Group! Please come again.
