NorthPark Presbyterian Church in Dallas (www.northparkpres.org) is on a mission to reverse hunger in Dallas. Their efforts greatly benefit the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry and Clothes Closet. The Reverse Food Truck (RFT) collects food from their congregation on the first Sunday of each month and with a team of volunteers they park the Reverse Food Truck at Kroger on first and fourth Saturdays asking patrons to please purchase food items while shopping for their families and deliver the food donations to the RFT before they go home. Items requested by the pantry are:
- Cooking oil
- Sugar
- Flour
- Cornmeal or Corn Flour
- Cake Mix
- Canned tuna
- Canned chicken
- Granola or energy bars
The enthusiastic and caring Kathryn Qualia, Director of Mission and Connection, who is in charge of the program, and the ever-helpful Daryl Carter, the Facilities Manager, deliver green containers filled with delicious and nutritious food items to the pantry several times a month. It is a JOY for the pantry to receive these food items. Our neighbors are so grateful.
In 2024,
- RFT collected 17,733 lbs of food and hygiene items for Vickery Meadows Food Pantry
- RFT collected 454 lbs of Onions, Potatoes, Apples and Oranges on World Communion Day for Vickery Meadows Food Pantry.
- RFT collected 123 rolls of toilet paper at Trunk or Treat for Vickery Meadows Food Pantry
- $1,864 was collected for VMFP
The Vickery Meadow Food Pantry and Clothes Closet is VERY grateful for the partnership with NorthPark Presbyterian Church. It is a tremendous blessing to have their support. Thank you!
